Specialising in intellectual property law, with a focus on copyright, Aernoud Bourdrez has built a reputation as a trustworthy and effective negotiator in complex conflicts.
Aernoud studied law at the University of Amsterdam and Université Panthéon-Sorbonne in Paris. He completed the MfN-basic training Mediation & Negotiation and Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.
His clients include talented and established visual artists, photographers, architects, museums and private collectors. His services range from drafting contracts to counselling and negotiating on how to prevent and resolve conflicts in architecture, design, photography and the visual arts.
Aernoud is a frequent speaker, for instance at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, on his fascination with the law, as well as his love of art and in particular the occasional collision between those two worlds. He presents lectures on the art of negotiating to executive boards and boards of directors, and also teaches negotiation as part of the post-graduate programme on Mergers & Acquisitions.
Aernoud’s book on negotiation, Think Like a Lawyer, Don’t Act Like One is an international bestseller. With his colleague Matthijs Brons he is the co-author of contract & commentaar, in which they identified the 20 most common standard contract clauses, and which het Advocatenblad calls The Beige Bible.
Before joining Florent in 2017, Aernoud worked for Allen&Overy, Höcker Advocaten and Bourdrez Law.
